Umbria’s
mad professor

Eraldo Dentici trained as a surveyor before switching to winemaking in the late 1990s — and everyone around Montefalco still calls him “the mad professor.” His family’s vineyards sit on native Umbrian ground, farmed to let the grapes speak for themselves.
Natural, organic, minimal intervention — Eraldo works with the region’s own varieties, Sagrantino and Grechetto, producing a Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG and an Umbria IGT Grechetto Esimio that are as bold and unmistakably of-this-place as he is.

MONTEFALCO
SAGRANTINO
Eraldo Dentici — Montefalco

Native ground,
native grapes

Around Montefalco, one of Umbria's small hilltop wine towns, Eraldo farms native varieties on their home turf — Sagrantino, one of Italy's most tannic reds, and Grechetto, the region's characterful white.

Sustainable farming, traditional technique, minimal intervention in the cellar — the wines are left to express their own terroir rather than be shaped around it.

Montefalco DOCG

Sagrantino

Umbria's great native red — thick-skinned and deeply tannic, at its most serious in the Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG.

Umbria IGT

Grechetto

The region's own white grape — bold and textured, giving the Umbria IGT Grechetto Esimio its character.
