Cormons sits exactly where two worlds meet — the marl-and-sandstone hills of Collio and the wide gravel plain of the Isonzo. Ferlat farms across both, giving grapes like Ribolla Gialla either grip or generosity depending on which side of town they grew.
The hillside soil pushes towards tension and mineral drive, saline and taut on the finish, while the river gravel softens things into something rounder and more generous — riper fruit, gentler acidity, more weight up front.

Alluvial gravel and sand carried down by the Isonzo river — fast-draining and warm, it gives rounder fruit and softer acidity.
