Close to the Adriatic near Villa Vicentina, the vineyards sit on sandy soils threaded with silt and clay — fast-draining ground, close enough to the sea to feel its influence on every harvest. It's classic ground for Friuli's indigenous varieties: Refosco holds onto its color and bite here, while Verduzzo ripens broader and more textured than it would further inland.
Some parcels were planted as early as 1920, and have been farmed without herbicides for the whole hundred years since — the kind of continuity that's rare even in a region full of old family estates.

Some of the Refosco and Verduzzo here go back as far as 1920 — four generations of the same family, never once reaching for a herbicide.
